Our Review of the Wahii Water Slide

Parents have always one dilemma when it comes to hosting birthday parties: how to make it fun and top the party held last year.

Finding a new thing to do isn’t always easy; however, you can always create an “updated” version of what you did last time. If you held a pool party for your kid last year (in which I’m sure all the guests had a blast), why don’t you go for a “slide” party this year? With the help of the Wahii Water Slide, I’m sure everybody would be talking about your child’s birthday party for the days to come.

The Wahii Water Slide is the world’s biggest backyard water slide! It comes in both 50 and 75 feet versions so you can choose whichever fits your place best.

Here’s how it works: place the water slide down a hill (a 4-5 ft drop should do it though) and keep it in place by using the stakes and duct tapes which comes with the package. Place the sprinkler at the top, turn the water on and get ready for hours of endless fun!

The slide is made up of thick, specially formulated UV protected plastic. It makes the slide’s surface super smooth so users can slide down easily. It can hold up to 256 lbs per foot which means several people can go down at the same time. Setting up takes around 15 minutes (yes, it’s that huge) and the same with taking it down.

Let’s take a look at the World’s Biggest Backyard Water Slide features:

Kids love it! See the Wahii video on YouTube!

75ft long x 12ft wide.

Initial set-up takes approximately 15 minutes… the slide is huge!

The Wahii is constructed of thick specially formulated, UV protected plastic. Surface is extremely smooth and rated to hold 256lbs per square foot!

Perfect for birthday parties.

This product has very great reviews everywhere, which says a lot on how great it is. Just a few tips though, don’t wear any jewelry or clothes with buttons or zippers which may tear the slide. Also, prepare for a stretch of dead grass if you leave the slide out for too long.

The only thing that I don’t like about this product is that it’s highly addicting. Prepare for guests to use it for hours, since it’s more interesting to use it at night. Just make sure that there are no rocks or anything rough under the slide and you can use it for a thousand more days.

Below are some comments about the Wahii Water Slide product from customers:

We ordered the 75 ft version because we thought we had enough space for it… turns out we didn’t but it wasn’t a problem, we just folded the end and we were good to go. we don’t have a very steep hill in our yard, not really a hill either, lol. what we do have is about a 3-4 ft drop along approximately 50 ft of our lawn (small slope more like it). we set the hose up at the top of the slope and left it there. with a running start we would make all the way down, pretty fast too. it was very easy for the kids to get the hang of it and they had a blast. the wahii provided great fun for our memorial day bbq (adults and kids). the one piece of advice i do have is to be very careful with your lawn. we were having soooo much fun we left the wahii set up for about a week and it killed the lawn at the bottom of the slope because the water was pooling there. this was my fault not the slide’s fault. the rest of the lawn browned up a bit but i’m sure it will make it.

the wahii is very easy to set up and to put away, neither should take more than 20 minutes.

another piece of advice: dont were jewelry or clothing with buttons or zippers that protude. these items may tear your slide.

P.S. to go super fast cut three holes in a large garbage bag (arms and head) you’ll slide down twice as fast…remember though, twice the risk…
Jose N. Morales

We bought the Wahii WaterSlide 75 for our daugters 11yr birthday party here in Nashville, TN last month. The KIDS LOVED IT! We had 20 or so girls (and a few boys) playing on the Wahii for over 4 hours. Best old fashion fun for the money, and much easier than the Banzai Inflatable slide we bought two years ago for $575.

It was easy to setup. My husband and a neighbor did it in about 15 minutes like the instuctions call for. The Zulu-Stick Fasteners worked perfectly. The birthday party was a super success! Thank you Wahii WaterSlides!

ps – we’ve used the slide 3x since and it still looks brand new. The slide is very durable.
Frita Williamson

Hey…all I have to say is that the kids loved this slide!! We have had 3 other “blow-up” slides…the Banzai ones and let me tell you, our kids had more fun on the Wahii than any of those other, much more expensive and cumbersome slides!!! Set up was simple and had no problems what-so-ever with it. Some of the Zulu-Stiks did come off…just like the manufacturer tells you in the instructions. They are designed to release to prevent the slide from tearing. I would rather have to re-do a couple of the Zulu’s than have the slide tear. This mainly happened because the kids would jump on parts of the slide that didn’t have quite enough water on it. Speaking of water…there were puddles that formed at the bottom and in the grass, but I was pumping water on it for over 2 hours…am I missing something or do you have to kinda expect that??? No tears, rips or punctures…even though the kids were running up the slide… no matter how many times I told them to run up in the grass.

As a side note and bonus…after over two hours of sliding and running back up the hill, the kids were so worn out that they all went to bed an hour early!! That in itself is worth the money.
The children all love it, but I should say I was a little scared because it was too big for my kids (who are only three and four years old that time). It has two slides on each side and got these water guns that the older kids use against each other.

Needless to say, my children begged me for an inflatable water park when we got home and drove me crazy until I get them one. I searched for the perfect aqua park for them and found one in the form of the Banzai Splash Blast Lagoon. It’s got a slide (which my kids adore) which goes down into the pool plus a water-spraying arch which add more fun! At 13 ft 6 in by 7 ft 10 in, it was the perfect size for my kids! It’s not too big for them (which I admit makes me scared that they would drown) and not too small that they have to cramp up when playing.

There’s no doubt that any kid would love this. As a parent though, I love the fact that the package comes with a continuous-airflow blower motor which inflates the water park in two minutes and keeps in inflates even when the kids keeps on going down the slide. Unlike other water parks, this one is small enough that I don’t have to go through hell just to deflate and store it.

Let’s take a look at the Banzai Splash Blast Lagoon features:

13 ft 6 in L x 7 ft 1 in W x 6 ft 10 in H inflatable water slide

Includes continuous-airflow blower moto

Combined user maximum weight limit: 150 lbs

UV Resistant Material extends life of product

Durable Construction

I heard of some people getting disappointed that the sun bleached the water park’s fabric, but that happens with any water park brand when you keep it under the sun too long. If you don’t want that to happen, make sure to put a tarp over it or store it away whenever the kids are done.

Overall, this is a very good product and I highly recommend it to any parents who want their kids to have fun and not worry about them falling down or drowning in the pool.

Below are some comments about the Banzai Splash Blast Lagoon product from customers:

I purchased this from Coloradobargains, because they had the lowest price, even with shipping. There was a small problem with the order, but I couldn’t be happier with the customer service from them, so I thought I’d give them a plug.

That said, the model I purchased is slightly different than the one pictured, but essentially the same. It is a super fun toy that I have trouble getting my 4-year-old off of! It’s well made and I’m sure will last for several years. All the neighborhood kids love it, and it’s not so large that it is difficult to store or move. One of my friends has the Plunge, which is a larger version of this slide, and they rarely get it out because it’s such an ordeal.

I would encourage anyone to buy this for their child this summer!
Gaucho Girl – Los Angeles

I was hesitant to purchase this toy online for my 5 and 4 year
old Grandsons because it was so much cheaper than the department stores.
It has exceeding all my expectations. The boys play for hours and
they tell me it’s their favorite toy. They love their own Water Park.
It was the best part of the 5 year olds Birthday Party and all 12
children played on it for hours.

I bought this item for my 4 grandchildren last summer (2009). It stored well over the winter and we’re using it again this summer. Anything that can stand the summer heat in Texas for two summers in a row is a real bargin. We got our money’s worth out of the slide the first two weeks that we owned it….couldn’t get the grandbabies off of it!!! Can’t wait until they get a little older so we can get them the next size up. I feel sorry for those that received a defective slide, because they really are a great value. We also found ours much cheaper at a Khols store in a nearby city.
First, it could be expensive especially when there are a lot of you since you’d need to pay a couple of dollars per head. Second, you’d pay extra for the food in the restaurant and third, you’d spend money on the gas for the drive.

If you want to save and have fun at the same time, I suggest buying an inflatable water park instead – one that you can use anytime in your backyard. You can invite your kids’ friends over, maybe grill some barbecues and have lots of fun together.

The Blast Zone Crocodile Isle Inflatable water Park with Dual Slides is the bomb when it comes to inflatable water parks!

First, let’s take a look at the features:

Features dimension: Approximately16 x 14 x 8
Max occupancy: 5
Blower included
Deflated size: rolled sleeping bag
Inflate time: less than 2 minutes

When it comes to having fun, there’s no doubt that your kids will have a lot! It’s BIG, and can cater up to five kids. Unlike other products where the pictures were altered, this one is the real thing.

Aside from the pool in the middle, this baby also has two slides so kids can simultaneously go down. When you have five or six kids in the pool at the same time, you know that one slide is never enough.

Some people had their Blast Zone Crocodile Isle Inflatable water for three summers and about eight birthday parties, and it’s still good. The materials used on this product are very durable, so having it last is not a surprise at all.

The only thing that I don’t like about this is that it can be a pain to deflate. The water gets inside the whole thing and you’d need at least two people to take it out. One parent suggests emptying it out, let it sit to dry some, flip it over, let it sit over night, flip it back over the next morning, air it back up, let it sit for another hour or two(so the rest of the water inside can dry out, etc) and then deflate it and pack it up. For drying out an inflatable water park, this is sure a lot of hassle.

Overall, this is a VERY good product and I’d certainly buy one for my kids again and again and again.

Below are some comments about the Blast Zone Crocodile Isle Inflatable Water Park with Dual Slides product from customers:

I have used this inflatable slide about five times inside the house with no water (weather cold but the kids were dying to use)and twice outside with water. We had five kids using it at a time and it so far as withheld it all well. It seems to be sturdy. It’s steady and I was not stressed while watching them play that they would hurt themselves. It’s nice that the ladder is in the center so if they slip down they will hit the cushion bottom or water. My kids played with this outside for about five hours each time. They were thoroughly entertained. The big kids (9 and enjoyed the slides and the little kids (2,3,4) had enough room to play in the pool part without getting run over by the big kids. It’s just been great. Of course, the deflating and getting water out is a pain, as with all of them. The water gets inside of it no matter what and it’s virtually impossible to get it all out. That happened to our other slide last year so I think it’s just the way it goes. I highly recommend this product so far.
E. Davis – Lodi, CA

They’d sell more if they called it “Yardzilla”. Anyway, that’s what we call it, as “Crocodile Isle” doesn’t quite roll off the tongue or get us excited about our backyard water park.

So, after one day of use for a little over an hour:

First, the “bad” if you want to call it that. Cons. Let’s go with cons:
*Takes a while to fill with water. With the water hose in the pool on full blast, it took about an hour. Forget trying to fill it with the little sprayer things.
*Water WILL get inside of it. It’s impossible to keep water out of something that is designed to let air out as well.
*Needs a ‘drain’ so you can direct the water vs. emptying it where it is… I think I have a solution for it (fish tank drain kit might help divert some water… I hope.)
****EDIT**** It is a pain in the behind to get the water out to store properly. I usually empty it out, let it sit to dry some, flip it over, let it sit over night, flip it back over the next morning, air it back up, let it sit for another hour or two(so the rest of the water inside can dry out, etc) and then deflate it and pack it up.

*The bag it comes with – ***EDIT**** -> The bag is not useless. I’ve put this thing away twice and got it in the bag both times, just by folding, rolling, and smashing the air out – without help from another person.

Now, the good / great / etc:
*Yardzilla is big. What you see in the picture is what you get. Unlike some other brand’s altered pics, this is the real deal.
*It goes up easily. Unpack. Unroll connect blower, turn on blower. It’s up in about 2 minutes, maybe less, after turning the air on.
*There’s room for about a dozen kids in the pool (which is just under 2 feet deep).
*Fun… I bought this for my 2 boys (ages 5 and 3). They constantly did the “watch this” for the hour and a half or so before dinner. We’re having a friendly get together this weekend and we’ll be having a bday party in about 8 weeks. I’ll repost about durability after that.

TBD:
Durability

As of this writing, I’d recommend it and I’d buy it again, especially if it lasts a couple summers with no major problems.

EDIT -> Week 2: Had 10 kids in it for about four hours for our first Yardzilla Weekend. We made some new friends. One parent saw it and bought it on Amazon within 15 minutes of watching the kids go nuts. About 3 kids started crying when it was time to leave. None of them wanted to leave.

I’ve bumped the rating up to 5 stars. This thing is a rock star if it doesn’t fall apart. Next up is the birthday party…
TK – Houston, TX, USA

I have purchased several slides for my grandchildren. The first two were nothing short of dangerous. The sides were too short and the little ones would jump onto the slide and bounce right off onto the ground. This slide has higher sides the kids love it. It has lasted two seasons and countless birthday parties! The pool is large enough for the little ones to play. This is a definate Buy!!

For people like me who have been looking for the ultimate inflatable water park, I’m glad to bring you the Banzai Pipeline Twist Aqua Park. This is the ultimate! It measures 21 ft 10 inches in length and 17 ft 8 inches in width. That’s a monster in the inflatable water park world!

Aside from having two different slides, it also comes with two water-spraying hose, a shady clubhouse atop and a vortex tunnel that kids could crawl through. If this is not the complete water park, I don’t know what is!

If you’re the type who loves hosting parties at home, that’s another good reason for you to buy the Banzai Pipeline Twist Aqua Park. Not only can it cater to several kids at a time, I’m also sure that your guests would love it. It can easily be the center of attraction on any party!

Great as this product is, I have to tell you its one downside. Not a lot of people are thrilled by how difficult it is to store this product. One, taking it down is such a hassle; let alone draining it of water. Some owners even chose to keep the aqua park inflated out over the summer just so they don’t have to keep on taking it down and putting it back up every time they want to use it.

And oh, here are a few tips. If you decide to keep inflated in the backyard over the summer, make sure that you place a tarp over it. This is to make sure that the water park doesn’t get damaged from too much exposure. You can also use one of those cheap garbage bags for storage instead of searching high and low for a bag to store this monster.

Overall, I’d say I still give this product five start out of five. It’s a really great product – the materials used for it are of great quality and I’m sure kids would have tons of fun using it.

Below are some comments about the Banzai Pipeline Twist Aqua Park product from customers:

We bought this pool almost 3 years ago (older version than the one shown) and it was well worth the money. This will probably be the last year we use it as it needs some repairs, all of which are totally ok with me. When we bought it I had a 1 1/2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old so it worked great for both ages. The older child would use the slide and the younger one was able to splash around in the pool. It was easy to maintain and would pull it out at the first sign of summer (we live in Oregon) and leave it out all summer long. It has a blower so you just turn it on and it immediately inflates in about 3 minutes and turn on the hose. When your done you just turn the blower off and all the water drains out. There is no pool left up that you need to worry about a little one wandering into and drowning. The whole thing is immediate gratification!! Once blown up (without water) it is super easy to move around and place it where ever you want to whether it is in the shade or in the sun. It is finally showing wear (some of the seams are coming apart and there are some small holes. It still blows up but it just doesnt’ have the “stiffness” it did when it was new because the air leaks out. Because it has the blower it continually pumps air in rather than a one time blow up piece that wouldn’t take the abuse like this has. We will be buying another one next year! It has been a constant hit with all his friends and it is great for me as I can sit and relax and not have to assist a child to swim and be in the pool with them the whole time. It gives them more independence and allows them to try new things and explore. Last summer my youngest one at 3 1/2 was going down both slides with complete confidence. I highly recommend this to anyone with a wide range of ages. I even used it and it truly was a ton of fun! Great for the whole family, friends, neighborhood…..you name it! LOVE IT!! I bout mine at Costco and it was around $600. If I get 3 years out of it that is a mere $200 a summer. I might even try doing some repair work on it this summer and maybe be able to get a 4th year out of it.
L. Kessler – Portland, OR

This thing is big!!! Make sure you have a large flat surface for it. My kids love it (3 years & 16 months) and even I’ve been up the slide (6′1″ @ 170lbs). We had the next door neighbors’ kids over this weekend as well (ages 4, 9 and 10.) They had a blast, which shocked me considering they have their own inground pool with a slide. The slide is definitely a hit and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for nice, warm weather for my daughter’s up and coming birthday party!!!!!

The drawbacks:
-the slide takes up a lot of room from a storage standpoint. It doesn’t fit into the storage bag that it came with so now we’re on the hunt for something to store it in when it’s in our shed.)
-you might want to look into a sprinkler pump to reuse the water
TheImportersWife – North Shore, LI, NY

This is an amazing product(huge&fun). Not too hard to set up…I searched for a month and read reviews for what slide would be the best (safest)for my 11 yr. old son and 2 yr. old daughter. It just doesn’t get better than this amazing water slide. I would defiantly recommend this product to a friend. Just the pool area is awesome…the guns are all that. I will care for it by putting a tarp over it to protect from rain and sun. Something I read from a previous review. It’s worth the money!!

Our Review of the Banzai Splash Blast Water Slide

You know how it’s like when you just bought a new water slide and you have to wait for it to inflate and your kids are already bothering you about it? Well, I hate that feeling too.

As I went through several water slides though, I realized that you just have to choose your products carefully and you never have to have this kind of problem again.

The Banzai Splash Blast Water Slide is one of the best water slides we ever had. The inflation time of two minutes is simply amazing, and I can have it set up before my kids are even done changing into their swim suits.

Your children would surely love climbing up, racing down the water slide and plunging into its refreshing lagoon-style pool.

Although it takes time to fill the pool with water, you don’t actually have to wait for it. You can have the children start playing halfway through, and just wait for the sprinklers to fill the pool.

Even though the Banzai Splash Blast Water Slide seems expensive on the onset (around $470), it actually allows you to save a lot of money compared to bringing the kids to a water park. When you have one of these, you can set up your very own water park right in your backyard – anytime you want! For its price, you are getting both convenience and entertainment at the same time.

I hear some people saying they don’t like Banzai products because they don’t last long. Well, I had a couple of Banzais and I’d say I got my money’s worth off them. The trick is to take care well of the products – carefully take them down when your kids are done playing and store them properly. After all, no product would ever last unless you take good care of them.

If you’d ask me if I’d pay good money for a Banzai Splash Blast Water Slide – I definitely would. It’s a great-quality product and my kids love sliding on it all day long.

Below are some comments about the Banzai Splash Blast Water Slide product from customers:

I have read a lot of really bad reviews about this company’s products but I still went and bought a slide for my kids. I bought mine yesterday at Target or spring break. So far it is doing fine. My 2 kids and their friends, all under 70 lbs, have spent a total of 6 hours climbing and sliding to their hearts content. We have had no problems and I’m really thankful because these things cost a lot of money. I have a few suggestions if you get one. Don’t wait until the pool is filled with water before you let the kids play or it will take forever. Also the water sprinklers, because they are on all the time, do end up filling the pool. So after maybe 2-3 hours the pool filled and the weight of the water caused the end of the slide to deflate but its not a defect at all its just there was too much water in the pool part. After we drained a little of the water the bottom of the slide was back to normal. From what I can tell this is a really well made product. Hopefully thats because they went and upped the quality from the past years models and bad customer complaints. If I have a problem I will redo my review. As I bet you are, I was terrified to buy this thing after all the bad stuff I read. But so far I’m really happy with my purchase. Just keep a hawks eye on it and fix anything thats comes up asap. Oh and I have taken others advise and I have backup duct tape(it came with a repair kit but I want to be safe) just in case something rips. Have fun cause your kids WILL LOVE THIS!!!
Hilary Lardin – US Navy

I’ve had really good luck with this product. I purchased it for my 2 grandson’s (age 5 and 6, about 40lbs and 50 lbs) and they used it all summer long without any problems. It is easy to set up (about 2 minutes to inflate) and quick to fill up with water so the kids didn’t have to wait to start playing. I’m not sure why other people have had trouble with the quality. My grandson’s were pretty rough on it and I didn’t have any tears at all. Air seeps out of the seams intentionally, as stated in the instructions so we didn’t panic at seeing air bubbles at the seams. I plan on buying another larger Banzai water slide when the kids get bigger. Worth every cent I spent considering the many hours of playtime.

My kids had a blast on this slide! It provides hours of fun just in your own backyard. It’s a great alternative to having to take them to the community pool or a water park. It’s great for parties and just having friends over! My kids love having their friends over and playing on this slide. They are pretty rough on it but I’ve never had any problems with it. It only takes 2 minutes to inflate and provides hours of fun. I will continue purchasing Banzai products!

Our Review of the Inflatable Bounce House and Water Slide Wet or Dry Playstation

If your child bothers you in getting a bounce house every time she wants to play on one, why don’t you just go ahead and get one for her? There are a lot to choose from, whatever your budget is.

The Bounceland Inflatable Bounce House and Water Slide is a very good value for your money.

There are a lot of things that I love about this product. First, I love the fact that it can be used on both indoor and outdoor. Whenever the weather’s too cold and your kid’s bored (and they start getting annoyed because they don’t anything to do), just take this bounce house out and watch while your child have some fun while going down the slide.

When the weather’s good, take this product out, blow it up and then connect a water hose to it. It makes the sprinklers go and allows children to play with the water. My sister bought a Bounceland Inflatable Bounce House and Water Slide for my nephew’s birthday and it was a riot!

Of course, this thing has the best features too. It has a ball pit, climb, a basketball hoop, a tunnel, a water gun, a long slide, a splash pool and a Velcro roof top for sunny days. It can cater to a couple of kids at the same time, provided that they don’t go beyond the 400lbs maximum weight capacity.

Now, this is not the perfect product. Much as I love it, I have to say there are some minor things that this product can improve on. First, I don’t recommend this to very young children. The side entryway into the house has a rather wide opening, and young children can easily fall off the house while bouncing because of it.

There are some people who got a rather defective unit (though I think this is a problem with quality control and not the product itself), like this one Mom who was able to use the bounce house’s water gun for a week when it suddenly stopped working. Luckily, the warranty is good for ninety days so she was able to send it back.

Below are some comments about the Inflatable Bounce House and Water Slide Wet or Dry Playstation product from customers:

We have owned this bounce house for 3 months now and have been very happy with it. It is very well made and sturdy. It is even strong enough for mommy to bounce and climb on (130 lbs), but not daddy (180 lbs). Our 2 year old has a GREAT time in it. We normally keep it inside and inflate it a few times a week. It can keep her occupied for hours at a time, which in itself is a miracle. It is also a big hit with the neighborhood children. On hot days we set it up in our front yard with the water hooked up to the waterslide and the children flock to it. We searched for a long time for a bounce house that has everything we wanted–ballpit, climbing, and waterslide–and this is the only thing we found that fits the bill. This is worth every penny and I imagine we’ll be using it for years.
Christy in Europe “Christy” – Europe and USA

We bought this bounce house for our son’s 5th birthday – it was a big hit with him, his friends and his two brothers! With three boys, it’s getting well-used and holding up great! We haven’t tried it with water yet, but are looking forward to it being a great summer toy (if we can just keep all the neighborhood kids from getting on it all at once We had one stocky neighborhood boy who weighed the 100 lb. limit get in, and he could bounce ok, but struggled a little to get up onto the slide. He got down the slide fine, but I’d say the weight limit (100 lb individual and 400 lb total) is about right for using the slide. As a 140 lb adult, I could easily navigate the bounce part to help the smaller children if needed.
It was also very easy to put up. The flap entrance to the bounce part has velcro to close, so I don’t know why some reviewers thought it was unsafe and kids would fall out. The entrances are no different than any commercial bounce house. What I loved was how easy it was to take down. I can do it single-handed in 10 minutes: I followed the instructions for folding it and rolling it up like a sleeping bag, then put it in the large handled case provided. The case is large, so it’s not a battle to get it into a tight-fitting case. Very easy!
Jeff Abbott – Gainesville, VA United States

Bought this bouncy castle and slide 3 years ago because you can use it as a dry bouncy castle but also a wet slide with mini pool and water gun.
Very satisfied. It is made of very sturdy materials.
In order to make it last, one must make sure to put it on grass/avoid sharp rocks/objects. Also important to dry the castle before storing it to avoid mold.
Make sure to connect the water hose on the thread correctly and do not kink the tubes and the water spray and water gun will last a long time.
As for the negative reviews, I guess people do not take good care or correctly use this product.
Also this product is not intended for 2 year olds so don’t complain. It is for 3-11 years olds.
My children and cousins play it all the time at the same time. That is 6 kids aged 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. No problem at all!
I confessed that I tried it and I am a 6′3″ 200 pounds guy and this castle did not break a sweat. It is really sturdy.
The blower is very good quality and easy to connect.
Buy it! You will not be disappointed.

Homeowners who find mold in basement areas will need to take immediate action to eradicate the problem. Ignoring the presence of this organism will only cost more the longer it is left alone.

The environment in most basements is conducive to the growth of mildew and various molds. These organisms love dark, damp places and many times this area of the home will lack adequate circulation to keep the humidity levels low. Molds can grow within one day of having the right growing conditions. This is not a problem that can be ignored because it will only get worse.

Although most molds are benign, there are two ways that health can be affected by this problem. Large concentrations of spores can cause respiratory problems, especially in people who have allergies. Some types are toxic because they excrete mycotoxins. Animals and humans exposed to these dangerous mycotoxins can suffer neurological problems. Severe cases can even lead to death.

Due to the presence of these types of spores in virtually any environment, they are impossible to eliminate completely. It is best to prevent growth to begin with by making sure all indoor areas are dry and as free of humidity as possible.

When there is a problem, it will be important to discover the source and eliminate it. Any water leaks in the affected area need to be completely sealed. If there is carpet that is badly water damaged it should be replaced. The same is true of drywall that has been soaked. If the source is not identified and eliminated, cleaning up the affected area alone will not prevent future growth.

Vinegar is an inexpensive cleaner that will disinfect the affected area at the same time. Tea tree oil also works very well but it costs a lot more than vinegar. Most home improvement centers will carry a selection of commercial cleaners. Avoid using chlorine bleach because dangerous fumes can be released.

Small moldy areas may be treated by the homeowner but if the problem is spread over a large area, a professional contractor should be called in to take care of the job. When hiring a professional it is important to find a company that has the proper credentials and a good reputation in the area.

In addition to being ugly, mold in basement areas will cause a musty smell. It can do substantial damage if left unattended so it is best to deal with the problem sooner rather than later.

There often are many ways to go about finding help with water damage restoration. Most of the methods are very simple to implement if a person is dedicated to the process. When people are dealing with these issues that normally need to speak with someone that has had the service performed in the past.

Speaking with neighbors is usually the best way to go about finding a good service provider. This is because these individuals will have first-hand knowledge of how much they paid for the service. They will also have a list of decent service providers.

People can use the Internet to find out about different companies that provide this service. This is usually beneficial for people that are searching in a hurry. When people need a service provider immediately they usually will use the Internet in order to make the searching process much more productive.

Many times people can utilize phone book to find what they’re looking for. These services will have advertisements in this book in order to get new clients. Making sure that a company has the ability to help but the problem is usually very important.

Talking to a professional is always advantageous before hiring them to do a job. Getting an idea of how much something will cost is also necessary for most people. When an individual does not have an idea of how much something will cause they usually have unexpected expenses.

Sometimes people can find information when they are looking in the newspaper. This is especially true if there has been a natural disaster in the area. Being willing to look in multiple locations when searching for this kind of service provider is usually advantageous. People will need to be prepared for the service to be reasonably expensive.

Most of the time people find it relatively simplistic to understand that motivations behind why people would look for water damage restoration help. Most people that are looking for these services usually cannot handle the issues completely without any assistance. They usually want someone to take care of the problem quickly for them. Not having the proper information is detrimental to the overall success that people will have when they are trying to get this job done. This means that people need to consider all options when they are looking for someone to perform the service. Many times people are in a rush and they do not think of everything that they should be considering.

There are many companies that will clean up the mess that is caused by a flooded basement but one should not hesitate to call the professionals or start cleaning up on one’s own home because water can do a lot of damage in a short period of time. A basement full of water is not the natural order of things so the problem has to be addressed as soon as possible. Act quickly in order to limit the damage.

Take the time to salvage what can be saved before the water ruins items in the basement. Then determine where water is coming in from. Water could be coming in through the foundation, or from a sewer line, or from a sump pump back up.

If the water is coming in from the foundation then drains in the floor could help solve the problem. Open all of the drains in the floor which will reduce the water level quickly and water that is left will be able to be pushed out the drain with a broom or mop. If the problem is due to a sewer line problem or a sump pump failure the job will be more difficult to remedy.

If the sewer line is backed up then opening a drain in the floor will not help because the line is already plugged up and in fact opening the drain might cause the water level to rise. In this case it is better to have water pumped out with a pump that is available in most hardware stores. However, people who are not familiar with pumping water out should consider hiring a professional because the job is not as easy as it looks.

Home owners who are not experienced pumping water out should seriously consider hiring a professional to do this job because the job is not as easy as it first appears. The next step is to retrieve all valuable items that can still be salvaged. Bring all valuables upstairs and allow them to dry but do not use any electrical items that have been affected by water.

The carpet can be salvaged in many instances but the carpet padding has to be removed and replaced. The carpet can be dried out and then vacuumed with a special water pulling vacuum machine. Do not use an ordinary vacuum because it can cause electrocution if exposed to water.

The flooded basement is a big problem. A home owner can attempt to clean up the mess on his own or he can call the professionals to do the clean up work. The professionals can pump out the water and have the problem cleaned out in short order.

Contrary to popular belief, basement mold can cause serious problems to the homeowner. Not only are there molds with high toxicity, but it is responsible for numerous health concerns, such as asthma and allergy. However, several homeowners may find that this is an issue for them.

It is not uncommon for molds to be hidden. It can collect in areas that are not easily seen, such as porous surfaces and structures. In this instance, the owner may detect the odors, but can not locate the source visibly.

Testing is always an option when the homeowner believes that there may be an infestation, regardless if they can see it or not. The results can not only tell if there is mold, but the types that are present. Some basements can have several different types growing in one location. Some may choose to perform testing for mold on their own, while others will hire a professional service to do so for them.

If the testing reveals that there is indeed a mold problem, it must be aggressively treated. This can include removing visible fungus and washing down the places where it has come in contact. Throwing out certain things may be necessary, especially if they can not be effectively sanitized.

Remediation of a fungal infestation consists of a process requiring multiple steps. Although this involves clean-up of the area, it takes much more than this. Following successful removal, the source of the issue must be addressed to avoid another infestation in the future. This may mean making repairs to the basement in some cases.

Another consideration is whether or not the homeowners will take the do-it-yourself approach or hire a professional. While there are costs associated with hiring a contractor, it may become necessary for certain jobs. For example, if large quantities of molds or toxic varieties are present, a contractor may need to handle it. The same is true if the person is allergic to this substance.

During the clean-up process, personal protective equipment is a necessity. It may also be recommended to seal off the basement for the duration. This can prevent the spores from spreading throughout other areas of the home and causing even more problems.

Molds can cause serious health problems in both humans and their pets. Respiratory problems are only the beginning. Toxic levels of this substance can lead to toxicity, which can cause problems with memory, increase the heart rate and cause dizziness just to name a few adverse effects. Taking care of this problem is often a priority.
